CV
Sophia Garvey started writing and releasing music at 16 years old with Richard Huxley.
Went to uni in Leeds to study fine art (at Leeds Arts) and released Post Break Up Sex, which is used in Season 4 of You on Netflix. While at uni she met Matt Parker, who she recorded an EP with featuring the songs Late Nights, Life Of The Party, Girl On TV and Ohhh Honey. With a group of friends at uni, she filmed and edited videos for all four songs. Met Score Global while re-recording vocals in London and started work on Pure Filth with a development deal.
Since then, she has worked on a Peppa Pig afternoon tea bus, did shifts in bars and worked as a teaching assistant for SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) kids in order to eat and live in South East London while recording the album, splitting her time between London and Manchester. At this time, she started playing gigs with the first incarnation of her band before auditioning people for the current line-up.
Her influences include Arctic Monkeys, Lana Del Rey, Moby, Gorillaz, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Madonna and Anita Ward (and the 90s aesthetic in general). She loves fashion, art and frequenting the nightlife scenes in ALL cities. She describes herself as unapologetic, tongue in cheek and pure filth. And she invites you to join her.
The first single Let The Cat In is coming out on February 5th, where Sophia “is” the cat. She has cat collar merch.

Let The Cat In (Release date: 5th Feb 2026)
Three and a bit minutes of scratting, screaming and purring, discussing themes of desire and desperation. This debuts a more mature style, with dance routines you can’t help but want to learn, a cat flap and multiple outfit changes. Think 90s Madonna – she describes it as feral and oh so nefarious. Nefarious is the new naughty. And of course, she loves cats.

Too Hot To Leave (Release date: 5th Mar 2026)
Following on from the desire and desperation of Let The Cat In, Too Hot To Leave explores themes of self-discovery and power. This song embodies what Sophia is all about, 'Feral Pop'. Haha. She invites you to 'sink your teeth in' and 'take a bite'. And is quoted as saying, "Do it I dare u". The music video embodies indulgence in 17th century underwear. And if that doesn't tickle ur fancy, there's a feast filthy enough to make ur nan blush. (It's classy though)

Affaires de Coeur (Release date: 2nd Apr 2026)
Affaires de Coeur is obsessive and unhinged, and means 'affairs of the heart', expressed in French (just felt a bit more classy)... It captures the excitement of a new romantic prospect that you know is doomed to fail, but you can't help but treat urself anyway. It's messy, raw and honest, so much so that it could be a page from your very own diary, or a drunk text you send at 2am... no judgement here.

Ur Just A Man (Release date: 7th May 2026)
Her final single is filthy tongue-in-cheek feral pop. With an affinity for Stella Artois, and a whole lot of attitude, she'll put you in your place, and you'll say, "Thank you." Think Amyl and the Sniffers meets ur da at the pub. Bringing northern charm laced with sarcasm, it's all bite and full of bark. There is a male vocal on the song written by Sophia, and she wants it performed by Shaun Ryder... ask him will ya. She's offering a vape, (any flavour), a Stella (maybe two if he's lucky) and a special place in her heart.

Keep an eye out for the album release, titled Pure Filth
Pure Filth is a lipstick-smeared, mascara-smudged confession in a pub toilet; it'll tear you apart and put you back together again with a kiss. It's instinctual with sharp hooks and a messy, feral production style. (It's not much, but it's honest work.) It's an album that owns its contradictions: innocence that knows too much, filth that is immaculate, confidence with a hint of delusion, and emotion that doesn't behave, in fact it doesn't want to. Having faced many personal challenges, she knows who she is, has built herself up from the ground and has complete creative control over her output. No big record industry creation by committee, just a girl, a half-smoked cig, a dream, and a group of friends who believe in her and the music, and she believes in them.
She invites you to own your contradictions, and join her in celebrating them.
